“Having been accepted by Pioneers to work with ‘children at risk’ in Lesotho and completed a training course in Thailand, we are open to the Lord and are happy to work in whatever capacity opens up in this area. This is both an exciting and challenging journey with God.” Dawn, a qualified mothercraft nurse/pre-school teacher, has always worked with children in many different capacities. Both Graeme and Dawn worked as hostel parents to primary school-aged missionaries’ children in Papua New Guinea for fifteen years. They have been interested in and prayed for ‘children at risk’ for many years using material from Viva Network. For the past seven years, they have been deeply involved in lay leadership of their local church. They have two married daughters and an adult son as well as four lovely grandchildren. Due to changes in Dawn’s employment and Graeme completing his leadership role in their church, they began seeking the Lord for the next step, which included asking Pioneers if there were any opportunities of working with ‘children at risk’. They were told of the need in Lesotho and of the team being established there. Since then, God has given Graeme and Dawn a deep compassion and love for the children of Lesotho. The Taylors joined the Smarts in Lesotho in 2007. |
