OARF Project
A current project of Teamlesotho comes under the ‘Overseas Aid and Relief Fund' and is concerned primarily with community development and working with those affected by HIV/AIDS.Our initial project involves both building community awareness and teaching preventative skills with a view to establishing through education a basis for churches and community groups to meet both the spiritual and physical needs of their communities.

Project Information

Hope Education Lesotho Project involves training Basotho church leaders and personnel to become educators in AIDS awareness, to identify community needs, to understand the complexities of the AIDS epidemic, its social and economic impact, and how to meet the needs created.

The main beneficiaries are local church pastors and leaders, their congregations, and ultimately their communities. Church workers will benefit from professional development in AIDS awareness and ministry, as will their congregations. Finally, the whole community will benefit from ongoing programs established by the churches in response to the vision created by the Hope Education Project.

The project will involve teaching basic AIDS awareness and prevention. It will also explore how to care for those already infected/affected by HIV/AIDS and the practical ways in which the affects of AIDS on society can be mitigated using the resources of the churches, both collectively and individually.
